Volunteer opportunities at Paper Wing Theatre!
Paper Wing, located at 320 Hoffman Avenue New Monterey, is looking for volunteers for the fall and holiday season. They need dedicated people who enjoy the theatre and are looking for volunteer front of house staff.
Light duties include:
Greeting people at the door, taking tickets, selling tickets and refreshments.
Perks include:
Community service hours, free tickets to shows, fun easy going atmosphere.

The Paper Wing Theatre Company announces auditions for its holiday musical, the well known family favorite ANNIE
When: Saturday, October 4 at 11:00 am
Where: 320 HOFFMAN Avenue, New Monterey
Please be prepared to sing one song (bring sheet music) and you will be asked to read from the script. We need all ages, body types, and levels of experience. ALL ROLES ARE OPEN. We especially are looking for outgoing girls ages 5 through 13. No previous stage experience is necessary, and our auditions are a fun, low pressure event. CALL 675-0521 for more information.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, GEORGE BAILEY

MERRY CHRISTMAS, GEORGE BAILEY will be staged as a “live radio broadcast.” Actors will carry scripts, sound effects will be performed live and there will be musical underscoring. We are looking for actors with broad vocal capabilities who can embody a typical “radio actor” of the 1940’s.

Auditions continue for the 2008/2009 season productions of Staff Players Repertory Companyat the Indoor Forest Theatre, Carmel. Newcomers may bring information on their past experiences on and off the stage. The schedule of exciting seldom-seen plays is: Robert Sherwood’s PETRIFIED FOREST will play October 31 to November 30. FOREST is a gripping depression-era thriller. Clifford Odets’ WAITING FOR LEFTY plays from February 13 – March 8. Through powerful scenes of love and dissent, Odets dramatizes ordinary people banding together against disaster. The last production is George Bernard Shaw’s MRS. - Boze - 30 to 40 years; athletic; man of action; ex-college football star
Squier - late 42 to 60; slender; “English” sounding; a man at the end of his life; purposeless
Jackie - 28 to 60; tough, lower class, killer; member of Duke Mantee's gang
WAITING FOR LEFTY
- “Joe” - 35 to 60 - burnt out New York City cabbie: defeated; his whole family is coming apart and he can't bring home the bacon. He finally calls for strike!
Gunman - 25 to 50 - cold, professional thug
Miller - 30 something - Junior research assistant, offered a promotion in exchange for his scruples against spying.
Fayette - 30 to 60 - Corrupt industrialist, tries to buy off Miller
Florence - 20/30 something - helps her family with the pitiful $8/month she makes; she has to give up her fiancé and her dreams of marriage because they're too poor.
Irv - 20/30 something - New York Cabbie, junior grade; one last visit to Flo: to say goodbye.
Sid - 30 something - Flo's protective brother; he reads her the writing on the wall
Clayton - 40 to 60 something - a whiney rat of a man who's sold out for what we don't know, to mislead the union men into voting not to strike.
Dr.Barnes - 50-70s something - senior hospital doc; he has to practice the anti-Semitic policy of his hospital and let one of their brightest and best go, because he's Jewish.
Dr. Benjamin - 30-40 something - brilliant young doctor loses his position in his first brush with institutional anti-Semitism.

To be considered for a major role, a prepared modern monologue up to one minute in length is required. Auditioners should also be prepared to read from the script and to complete a dance audition. The productions, directed/choreographed by Stephen Moorer/Susan Cable (HSM2) and MaryAnn Schaupp-Rousseau (ALADDIN), will run at the Golden Bough Theatre from January 15 - February 15, 2009 (HSM2) and February 27 - March 15, 2009 (ALADDIN). Volunteer Opportunities at Pacific Repertory Theatre - In 2004, PacRep Theatre fulfilled its goal to create an active auxiliary of volunteers working with staff to support the theatre's various efforts. If you are willing to give a few hours a week to help in the office, usher at a show, house an actor or build a set, we have opportunities for you to get involved.
